Description
To feed plants, we feed the soil. In turn, to feed the soil, we need to know the condition of the soil in terms of nutrition and microbial life. Modern agriculture and gardening methods using synthetic chemicals and mechanical tillage can destroy the soil biome. This reduced nutritional availability for plants causes reduced plant health. Ultimately, the health of humans and animals that feed on these plants is compromised.
Our soil fertility program is managed by Evan Folds. Evan is a living soil agronomist, ecological entrepreneur, and regenerative business strategist. Through his consulting company Be Agriculture, he works with clients towards achieving living systems in the landscape. Evan works to integrate the landscapes of food, farming, and health to create dynamic solutions and solve the big challenges that we face.
Soil Fertility Program
The soil fertility program includes a 30 minute intake call with Evan, his detailed report and recommendations to improve soil fertility and a 30 minute post-analysis consultation. The soil sampling is conducted by you using detailed instructions provided by Evan. You are responsible for the shipping to Evan’s nominated soil laboratory and the cost of analysis, as additional costs. The cost of soil analysis presently is $US 27 per sample and usually a single sample is sufficient for most smaller properties.
We recommend that soil analysis is completed on all large design projects >1 acre in size. We include this at no cost when performing Regenerative Community Design projects.
