Maria McKenty is a certified Permaculture Designer and landscape installer based on Vancouver Island, BC; and is the owner of Earthlight Landscaping. Maria was first introduced to Permaculture as a teen. She completed the Permaculture Design Certificate training at the age of 18 with Lee Harrison and has been designing ever since.

Since 1995, Maria has designed and installed dozens of permaculture landscapes throughout British Columbia. It’s a joy for her to help homeowners turn their yards into thriving food forests
and resilient gardens; whether a city lot or an off-grid 10-acre parcel. Her work includes using digital tools to craft custom designs all across North America. She has pursued ongoing training in water wise and Firesmart landscape design, the soil food web, integrated pest management, organic agriculture, and herbal medicine.
