About Me
Graham
Graham Towerton is a Permaculture Consultant and COO of Permaculture Canada. A retired 34-year veteran in Chemical Engineering, he is now embarking on a longer career in permaculture. He has a 7-acre farm in Michigan and provides design, consulting and landscape installation services.
Graham is a certified Permaculture Design Consultant (Geoff Lawton’s Permaculture Research Institute) who has studied and practiced permaculture since his high school years on his parent’s family farm in Australia. At the time he wasn’t aware that permaculture could be a career choice, so he studied Chemical Engineering, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree (with Honors) in 1988. Graham’s experience in oil and gas, oil refining, petrochemicals, mining, biofuels, water treatment and agriculture provides a great deal of useful experience in promoting regenerative agriculture practices to corporations and individuals alike.
Graham has completed over 60 designs and 200 consultations spanning 16 countries. Within Permaculture Canada he leads our sales team, manages our IT needs and supports the CEO in business development with customers and strategic partners.
His 7-acre farm in Adrian, Michigan has an 1850 farmhouse and early 1900’s dairy barns and is now being converted to a permaculture farming and education/demonstration facility. While he is a capable designer, his main passion in permaculture is to change landscapes through his permaculture landscaping services.
