1 Acre – Rancho Santa Fe, California

This is a 3 acre property in Rancho Santa Fe, California.  Fire resistance, compacted soils and increasing privacy are some of the considerations for this design.  An existing lemon grove required soil remediation, interplanting with more citrus and stone fruit as well as mitigation techniques for ants.  The paddock in the far back end already has chickens and we interplanted the area with emergency forage for the animals to create fresh forage, increase biomass on-site as well as increase resiliency in the food source for the livestock.  A meditation garden is added close to the bedroom of the owners as a daily quiet space to be enjoyed, planted with mosquito repellant plants and edible flowers in “Ganesha’a Garden”  There is also a spa area and water feature that have been supported with a herb spiral and insectary plants to increase aroma and ward off potential pests.
